$25k for Kids - guidelines & criteria.

This grant is special. It's meant to make a difference beyond the scope of the Foundation's quarterly grants.

All non-profit organizations that meet the criteria of the Foundation are invited to apply. Previous grant recipients are welcome to apply. There will not be a preference in the review of applications based on an organizations history with the Foundation. If you have applied for a quarterly grant in the past, please remember that applications will be considered as submitted and should not reference previous applications to provide information about an organization or a project.

For the $25k for Kids grant, the following criteria (in addition to the stated requirements for all MainStreet Foundation grants) will be strong considerations in the review process.

The primary considerations are:

  • Provide an unmet critical need for food, shelter, and security.
  • Benefit a large number of kids.
  • The grantee will have an infrastructure in place.
  • The grant will have a major impact on the organization.
  • The grant will help kids in some of the communities served by Androscoggin Bank branches.

Each year, applications are accepted starting May 1. The Deadline for application submission is July 31st. We review all applications at our August Board meeting and invite the three top finalists to present in person in October. We announce the winner and runners-up for the $25k for Kids award at our November Annual Meeting.
