What is it?

PopMoney was an add-on service offered by Androscoggin Bank that was managed by CheckFree. For an additional fee, consumer clients enrolled in this service had the option of both sending and receiving funds to family and friends electronically, directly from their bank account. Transfers could have been sent on-demand, or set up to reoccur.

What’s happening?

In June 2022, the PopMoney add-on service will be discontinued.

The decision to discontinue this service was not made by Androscoggin Bank. CheckFree, the vendor managing this service, has opted to sunset the product.

Are there any alternatives available?

Yes! Several. While the bank cannot recommend or endorse other fund transfer solutions, we can suggest that clients research alternatives such as: PayPal, Venmo, Apple Cash, and Samsung Pay.

Once a client has determined the best solution to meet their needs, you do not need to communicate your intentions with the bank. Simply enroll in that new service, set up your payment account, and schedule your transfers like normal.

Will Androscoggin Bank offer other solutions in the future?

Androscoggin Bank is currently researching other vendors and alternatives. While no decisions have been made at this time, that there will be more information coming soon.
