Mobile Banking

What does Androscoggin Bank do with your personal information from the mobile application?

The mobile application requests access to information stored on your devices, such as location, camera, contacts, or other features you are enrolled in, to enrich and simplify your user experience, improve our services, and provide additional security to protect your account. It is important for you to understand that:

  • Before granting access to this information, you will be prompted to give the application that permission.
  • If you do not wish to grant that permission, you may decline.

If you later change your mind, those permissions can be updated in your device’s settings.

Some examples of information your app will request access to are:

  • Location – to facilitate push notifications.
  • Contacts – user experience for person to person payments.
  • Camera – to facilitate capturing a check image for mobile deposit.

We use security measures that comply with federal law to protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

The application information is retained in accordance with state and federal record retention laws. Please contact us to determine specific timeframes for your personal stored data and if that information may be deleted.

Mobile Banking App Notifications

Our Mobile Banking App collects location data to enable push notifications to offer our products and services to the consumer, even when the app is closed or not in use. A pop-up screen will notify the consumer requesting approval to receive push notifications for this new mobile feature. The consumer can opt out of push notifications during this time or turn off the locations part of the app within their phone settings. In-app ads and banners within the mobile banking app will not be affected. The consumer will still receive these ads, and the opt-out feature for this advertisement is unavailable.

Interest-Based Online Advertising

This section of our Privacy Statement provides details about interest-based online advertising (also called “targeted advertising”, “re-marketing”, or “behavioral advertising”) and your choices with respect to this type of advertising.

We use third-party audience data such as age, gender and interests to better understand the behavior of our customers and work with companies that collect information about your online activities to provide advertising targeted to suit your interests and preferences. For example, you may see certain ads on this website or other websites because we contract with Google and other similar companies to target our ads based on information we or they have collected, including information that was collected through automated means. These companies also use automated technologies to collect information when you click on our ads, which helps track and manage the effectiveness of our marketing efforts.

You may opt out of the automated collection of information by third-party ad networks for the purpose of delivering advertisements tailored to your interests. Because those opt-out and preference control pages are specific to the individual browser used to visit it, and because that page is not operated by Androscoggin Bank, we are unable to perform the opt-outs on your behalf.
