In Her Presence is Androscoggin Bank’s Newest Empowering Partner

As the first and only Benefit Corporation and Certified B Corp bank headquartered in Maine, we often reflect on what it means to lead—both in the workplace and in our communities. Fortunately, our roots run deep, and leadership has always been part of who we are as a mutual bank.

Since our founding in 1870, Androscoggin Bank has played a vital role in our communities. We safeguard hard-earned savings, provide access to funds that help our clients achieve their goals, and invest in a more prosperous future with every loan and financial contribution we make. Most importantly, we offer stability during difficult times.

At the heart of our community are individual leaders and organizations who understand that prosperity remains out of reach for many. Our Community Engagement program exists to celebrate those who not only serve our community well, but who also elevate the voices of those facing significant challenges or barriers to achieving their own goals and dreams.

We’re proud to introduce the Bank’s newest “Empowering Partner”: In Her Presence. In Her Presence supports immigrant families by cultivating connection, nurturing relationships, and providing learning opportunities essential for successful integration. Recognizing the critical role women play in shaping the future, their work often begins with women—but their commitment extends to all members of immigrant families. From infancy to elderhood, they build supportive networks and connect families with the knowledge and resources needed for long-term well-being and prosperity. Their programming focuses on language acquisition, career counseling and job placement, as well as support for seniors and pregnant women.

As an Empowering Partner, In Her Presence will receive a multi-year grant with no application process and no reporting requirements. Instead of focusing on paperwork, we’ll engage in deeper conversations about how we can best support their mission. This might include mobilizing volunteers, offering mentorship, or simply being available when unexpected needs arise. They will also benefit from the direct support of a senior leader at the Bank to help ensure our partnership continues to grow.

We know that when our community thrives, so do we—and we look forward to a partnership built on mutual respect and understanding.
