Androscoggin Bank Welcomes Ninette Irabaruta as VP, Managing Director of the MainStreet Foundation

Androscoggin Bank is pleased to announce that Ninette Irabaruta has joined the Bank as VP, Managing Director of the MainStreet Foundation.

In this newly created role, Irabaruta will lead the Foundation’s day-to-day community engagement efforts, strengthen relationships with nonprofit partners, oversee grantmaking operations, and help integrate processes across the Bank and Foundation to advance Androscoggin Bank’s community impact strategy.

The position was established as part of a multi-year effort to better align the Bank’s community engagement initiatives with the MainStreet Foundation’s philanthropic work. Operating under the continued leadership of Director of Corporate Impact, Chris Lyon, Irabaruta will help advance a unified approach to creating lasting impact across Maine communities.

Irabaruta is a community and philanthropic leader with more than a decade of experience working at the intersection of community engagement, public policy, philanthropy, and cross-sector collaboration. Prior to joining Androscoggin Bank, she served as Senior Director of Community Engagement and Outreach at United Way of Southern Maine, where she led enterprise-wide strategies that connected community engagement, policy, and partnerships. She has also worked as an independent consultant and advisor to nonprofit and philanthropic organizations, focused on building partnerships that connect institutions, community voices, and resources to advance economic opportunities and improve outcomes for individuals and families.

Irabaruta holds a Master of Arts in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine.

“Ninette was a clear choice for this role given her extensive experience; she embodies the ethos of community connection and partnership we’ve been practicing, and we couldn’t be more thrilled,” said Neil Kiely, President and CEO of Androscoggin Bank.

“What excites me most about joining Androscoggin Bank is the opportunity to build on the Bank’s strong tradition of community partnership and create lasting impact,” said Irabaruta. “I look forward to listening, learning, and working alongside partners across Maine to strengthen communities and expand opportunities for all.”

Outside of her professional work, Irabaruta is passionate about community development, leadership, and investing in the next generation. A global citizen and lifelong learner, she enjoys building bridges across cultures and sectors and believes deeply in the power of relationships to create stronger, more vibrant communities.
